The skimmer is the heart of filtration in a marine aquarium. It removes the proteins that microorganisms, invertebrates and fish constantly secrete into the water. A powerful yet economical defoamer removes particles and floating pieces and aerates the aquarium. The very small and space-saving Sera marin Protein Skimmer PS 130 is one of the smallest skimmers ever and is ideal for nano aquariums up to 130 liters. It contains, like the slightly larger Sera marin Protein Skimmer PS 200, an integrated energy-saving dispersion pump that independently sucks in air and mixes it with the aquarium water. Both devices can be easily attached to the inner wall of the aquarium with the help of a height-adjustable holder. Air and water flow can be easily adjusted.

Sera marin Protein Skimmer 400 HO is suitable for aquariums up to 400L and can be variably positioned. It is possible to hang it outside the aquarium or place it under the aquarium in the filter. It is therefore very suitable for aquarists who want to switch from a freshwater aquarium to a marine aquarium. The larger Sera marin Protein Skimmer 600 S placed in the filter under the cabinet can easily be used in aquariums up to 600 l.
